One of the first wines I tasted from The Boisset Collection was this very special 2013 Marie Antoinette Chardonnay from Frenchie Winery – Napa Valley’s first dog-friendly winery.
One of the things that make this wine special is its unique label. Rather than display a picture of the late Marie Antoinette, this bottle features Jean-Charles Boisset’s rather charismatic, French Bulldog – Frenchie.
While I have come to prefer Chardonnay’s aged in stainless steel, French Oak has the tightest grains that allows the Chardonnay to simply soak in all that flavor. Frenchie’s Marie Antoinette benefits from both worlds. It’s aged in a combination of stainless steel and French Oak barrels. Aromas of honeysuckle and lychee invite you to savor this North Coast gem. Best paired with fresh veggies.
