The Countess of Buena Vista

If I had to describe 2018 in terms of my ‘wine life,’ I would call it the “Year of The Red Blend.” In the past, it had been a rare occasion to have a red blend that I really like. But several have graced my glass over the last 3 months, that merit placement on my wine list. The Countess is a new favorite. It contains 7 varieties of grapes:

  • 27% Zinfandel
  • 23% Syrah
  • 19% Merlot
  • 14% Cinsault
  • 6% Valdigue
  • 6% Petit Verdot
  • 5% Carignane

This wine has a velvety, inky appearance,  with licorice aromas and delicious notes of chocolate and deep, red berries.
